"Movember"

Moustache season + TOMS = Movember

Homemade Halloween

This post comes a tad belated but I had to share my halloween costume from last weekend!

Waking up at 4am and not being able to fall back asleep sometimes has its advantages. I've never been witty enough to think of [let alone create] my own costume. But this year, the day before halloween, an epiphany came from my early morning insomnia: an iPhone!

Nice apps ya got there! ;-D

The final touch - a USB headband
Black fitted dress: Target $20
Fabric paint (package of 4 colors): Michaels $8
Total time (mostly to dry): roughly 5 hours

Go for Gold!

So, I was reading up on some DIY's and decided to try a couple this past weekend. The first are some picture frames [from a thrift store for $1 each!] that I easily spray painted with metallic gold.

I rubbed the edges a little to give them a textured look...

The next was a DIY from The Colorful Living Project (via Pinterest). It's just some glass bottles spray painted with the same metallic gold. I haven't come across any flowers today (thanks rain!) but ideally they're cute vases for the house and/or gift.

can't wait to put flowers in these babies!

My Next Tattoo

Finally found the font I've been looking for!!! (And even made my first collage via Snagit)

My latest [school] project: done!

Recently I've had to work solely on a campaign for one of my Communication projects. Essentially, we were in groups of 3 and had to come up with an entire strategy to completely brand and market Prince Edward Island lobster (random huh?!) and let me say, I now know entirely too much about the lobster fishing/shipping industry. But our idea was to team up with Crowne Plaza hotels - hense the slogan "crownes diamond". And well, its FINALLY over and my group presented yesterday (we nailed it of course!) I just wanted to take the time to post the logo I created for our lobster. There's something about seeing a little crown photoshopped on a lobster that makes me giggle :-)

{ its so hard not to laugh at that little crown :-D }

Cambodia Application: SENT!

Well, I have OFFICIALLY applied for the abroad trip to Cambodia over winter break :-D I already spoke to the director of the trip and he assured me a spot.... so i guess its Cambodia here I come! Its about 2 1/2 weeks in January (I'll be there for my 22nd bday!) and the focus is primarily towards community development, post conflict reconstruction, and & spirituality. Well be helping victims of redlight districts and the slums and also learning from Buddhist monks. Gahhh I'm so siked to absorb such a distant culture and truthfully, I can't WAIT to see the temple of Ankor Wat. Now I just hafta buy the Rommers guide to Cambodia and brush up on my Khmer (cambodian)

*sighhh* come on January!

Post-it War!

So, apparently war broke out in Europe and the US... the weapon of choice? Post-it notes! All over Western Europe and now the US, post-it designs are popping up in windows of business and residential buildings. These are just a few fun ones, more can be found at the Post-it War website (and yes it is constantly updated) ~ Check it out!!

Wahoo-ville

Bodo's Bagels

Messy sandwich bagel

The chilly front brought on the urge to shop for winterwear

Intellectual glasses! [@ the rotunda]

Yesterday I decided to make the 2 hour journey to Charlottesville where my best friend Brianna goes to school - UVA... she's such a smarty pants. I rarely get the chance to wander and take photos and this trip was not the best time either due to some rain and a chilly front that came in. BUT I did manage to snap a couple of the infamous Rotunda, Mincers UVA apparel shop, and Bodo's bagels (I can't function without bagels). Of course we made some time for shopping (after all I am a girl) and i scored some of the coziest slippers I ever slipped my feet into AND a Virginia T-shirt. I also got to meet up with some old friends and we even caught a break from the rain in time to get dressed up and have a fun night out at a local "club" X-Lounge. I had HOPED to get the tattoo I recently began craving but time just wasn't on my side. Honestly, I fell in love with Charlottesville a while ago - the style, the history, the atmosphere - and I never have a bad trip, rain or shine. *sighh* I wish I didn't have to come back to the Fax for work and cut my vacation short but I'll just have to plan another Cville trip!

We all have something in common

Made by Matt Harding

One of my communication professors showed our class this clip today. My passion is traveling, and this absolutely makes my heart melt. If you want inspiration, this tops it all.
